Shaykhul Islam Hadhrat Mufti Taqi Usmani (Hafizahullah) has made a fervent appeal to all Muslims regarding the distressed Muslims of the Ummah, especially in Gaza.
Horrific Circumstances
It is my heartfelt plea that in the horrific circumstances we find ourselves in, where we have no other recourse, we do not have the capacity to defend with weapons, we have no means of reaching our brethren to defend them, we do not know how to defend, then together with financial contribution, the least we can do is make dua, turn to Allah Ta’ala, make dua for victory and help for them. It is nothing but the grace of Allah that six months have now passed, yet the people of Palestine and Gaza have remained steadfast and have survived the onslaught of such an advanced and powerful military might. They have remained firm and resolute in the face of a superpower that possesses all the machinery of war, and to date they have not been defeated. This is the special grace and doing of Almighty Allah. So let us ask from Him.
Plead to Allah
Plead to Allah to remove our oppressed brethren from this great oppression. One way of making dua is that after every Salah dua should be made, whenever we think of their difficulty, we make dua, but at times we can forget. So a thought and idea has come into my heart and I am hopeful that you will support me in this and that is; every muslim should dedicate 10 minutes of the 24 hours of our day to the people of Palestine. Just ten minutes; in these ten minutes turn your attention fully to Allah and recite Ayate Kareema with conviction, ‘La ilaha illa anta Subhanaka inni kuntu mina Zalimin.’ These words were uttered by Yunus (Alayhis Salam) in the belly of the fish when he was in the darkness and distress of this ordeal.
Recite often when in Distress
The Qur’an says, when Yunus (Alayhis Salam) said these words we relieved him from his distress. And not just him, but every believer who finds himself in distress, these words will bring relief and ease from distress. This does not mean that every person needs to go into the belly of the fish to recite this, rather when believers will call out to us in situations of distress, pain and difficulty then we will grant them relief and safety just as we granted Yunus (Alayhi Salam) relief. In the past people used to make khatam of 125 000 of this formula and we will be doing so in our institute also, Insha Allah.
The appeal is to every Muslim, to sacrifice 10 minutes to recite Ayate Kareema and make dua, repeat it regularly and recite it with fervency, thereafter make dua to Allah, express our helplessness to Allah and make dua that Allah Ta’ala grant them a resounding victory over the enemy.
Just 10 Minutes
How difficult is it to do this for just 10 minutes? Those people (the Palestinians have sacrificed their lives) so can we not sacrifice ten minutes of our time for those who are fighting in the cause of Allah? Every person should make this binding upon himself and I fear if we cannot do something a minimal as this then Allah will hold us accountable for negligence, that in front of your eyes the precious blood of Muslims was being spilt, and they were being massacred, and at such a time you couldn’t do the bare minimum of reaching out to Allah in supplication.
So every Muslim should do this wherever we may be, Will all of you do this? Does everyone pledge to do this, no one should shirk from this responsibility
Allah bless us all with the ability to fulfil this responsibility.
