Three reasons why we should always remain humble according to Hasan Al-Basri Rahmatullahi Alayh:
1 – Do not become boastful because of your righteous environment, for there is no place better than Paradise, yet our father Aadam Alayhis Salaam, fell from it.
2 – Do not become boastful because of your obedience, for consider what happened to Iblees (Shaytaan) after he spent a great deal of time in worship to Allaah.
3 – Do not become boastful because you know righteous people, for there is no man more righteous than the Prophet ﷺ yet the disbelievers of Quraish did not benefit by simply knowing him.
